This time we are featuring Deono Casola's primary highlight video. Casola is a fundamentally sound, hard-hitting linebacker that pursues the football aggressively. This comes as no surprise since he comes from West Monroe High School, a powerhouse in football with a great coaching staff. If you are a "football purist," you will enjoy watching this video.
While Casola's video doesn't meet all of the criteria mentioned in our highlight video instructions as he doesn't have an arrow pointing him out before the play, it is an excellent video because of the play selection and his performance. However, the feature we would like to point out is the outstanding video quality. In our conversations with college coaches, one of the chief complaints about evaluating prospects is that their videos, whether they are highlight or game tapes, are filmed with poor quality. Beside the outstanding play, what makes it so enjoyable to watch Casola's highlight video is the quality is crystal clear compared to many other highlight videos.
If your high school lacks the proper video equipment, it may be well worth your time to encourage your booster club, parents, or the school's administration to raise the money to improve the quality of your video. It was less than ten years ago that everything was shot on VHS. Now, with camera phones and pocket sized HD cameras becoming the norm, it is more affordable to get access to such quality because the standard is improving rapidly. Your coaching staff will probably appreciate this, too, because it will make it easier for them to grade the video after the game. If the school or coaching staff cannot cooperate, but you or someone you know is willing to video the game with better equipment, college coaches will appreciate the improved quality, even if it takes some extra effort on your part.
Our hats off to the West Monroe coaching staff for making video a priority. After you watch Deono Casola's primary highlight video, we recommend taking a look at all of the videos from West Monroe High School. You will most certainly appreciate the video quality, and of course, the outstanding football being played.
